Security Through Environmental Design and how it relates to the Active Shooter.  This free power point is a concise intro to understanding the role for designing locations to facilitate preventing active shooters. It was presented at the Gaylord Texan in November during the special speaker presentation hour on 11-20-14 by Chris Grollnek.  With standing room only, the topic was extremely well vetted and received.  Thank you all who attended and the questions that followed.  This is the first time I have decided to post a powerpoint on the topic and release a little proprietary information.  All information still requires a subject matter expert (SME) to break down the individual informational pieces for administrators and executives to buy in to the philosophies.

“An active shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area; in most cases, active shooters use firearms(s) and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.”
