Chris Grollnek in Baltimore Sun on Navy Yard Shooting

In the wake of the Washington Naval Yard shooting, Countermeasure Consulting Group is continuing to emphasize the fact that active shooter events remain a viable and evolving threat to our nation. The individuals committing these unthinkable acts are finding new ways to execute their attacks in order to do the most damage. We witnessed that in the most recent shooting near our nation’s capital.

Several media sources have interviewed Chris Grollnek, the founder of Countermeasure Consulting Group, concerning the shooting incident at the Washington Naval Yard in Washington, D.C.  During an interview with The Baltimore Sun as an Active Shooter Prevention Expert, Grollnek stated “trying to prevent incidents before they take place can be tricky because it’s usually impossible to profile suspects in advance.”  Although there is no profile, that does not mean its impossible to predict some behavior by warning signs an aggressor may exhibit.  The reality of the situation is that each event is unique and no two are alike. The active shooter is one of the only threats that law enforcement has not been able to develop a criminal profile as suspects range in age, sex, race, and backgrounds.

Fortunately, Countermeasure Consulting Group has been able to formulate some pre-incident indicators to help mitigate the potential risks associated with these active shooter events. CCG works in tandem with all professional and governmental entities to assist in the identification of pre-incident indicators and prevention.  Each of these consultation sessions is custom to the client and tailored to their needs.
