Active Shooter Response Expert Greg ShafferThe Northside Medical Midtown Active Shooter was tragic to hear about and of course, all the incidents such as this active shooter event, we send our condolences to the families and friends of the victims affected by these events. Yesterday, we acknowledge the incident at the healthcare facility in Atlanta, GA, on May 3, 2023. It was a privilege for Greg Shaffer and Chris Grollnek to join Shelley Wynter on 95.5 FM WSB in Atlanta to discuss the importance of active shooter prevention and the steps that can be taken to prevent such events from occurring. With technology like Omnilert and EAGL Gunshot Detection Systems, we can all but automate the process of response and early warning while providing what few realize possible, “the gift of time.”

Omnilert Gun Detection and EAGL Gunshot Detection are both essential tools that can help mitigate the risk of active shooter events and help reduce the unnecessary protracted length of such an event. With the proper assessments, training, and equipment, we can help save lives by rapidly providing critical information to first responders. By implementing these technologies and practices, organizations and communities can take proactive steps to prevent and respond to active shooter incidents, helping to create safer and more secure environments for everyone. The Active Shooter Prevention Project (ASPP), LLC has the P.R.O. Model, and we are working tirelessly to make this the new national standard for the public.

The importance of taking measures to prevent active shooter events and promote safety in public spaces is among us; whether we like it or not, it’s time. This model will save lives and will help protect the police by offering critical information in near real-time. These are three tangible things (assessments, gun detection, and gunshot technology) you can implement today and reduce risk and mitigate risk to life and property.

We were honored to recognize the efforts of law enforcement yesterday in responding to and mitigating this incident, even in the wake of such carnage. #NEVERHERE is a powerful message emphasizing the importance of taking preventative measures to ensure these incidents do not occur again.
